Year 2009
The International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009) dominated our program of events and meetings throughout 2009. Members participated in several locally sponsored Nights Out, WCU-sponsored Project ASTRO, and organized a field trip to Spitz, Inc., in Chadds Ford, PA. The society also offered an 8-week introductory level course on astronomy open to the public.



Year 2008
The Chester County Astronomical Society had an exciting year of observations and public outreach in 2008. Members participated in several locally sponsored Nights Out and the Society offered an 8-week introductory level course on backyard observing open to the public.



Year 2007
The Chester County Astronomical Society had an exciting year of observations and public outreach in 2007. Members participated in several locally sponsored star parties, Space Adventure Week (a children's program sponsored by the West Chester Dept. of Parks & Recreation), and organized a field trip to the Hayden Planetarium in NYC. The society also offered an 8-week introductory level course on astronomy open to the public. Once again the elusive lunar X was the subject of a special observing session in the summer.



Year 2006
The Chester County Astronomical Society had an exciting year of observations and public outreach in 2006. Members participated in National Astronomy Day, several school visits, and organized several star parties. 2005 was an award-winning year for CCAS with our editor, Jim Anderson, winning the Astronomical League award for best newsletter.



Year 2005
2005 was a busy year for the members of the Chester County Astronomical Society. Members participated in the annual West Chester Restaurant Festival, National Astronomy Day, the Sally Ride Science Festival at West Chester University, and held astronomy classes for the public. Members also enjoyed weekly observing sessions at the Hercules Cluster and our annual Holiday Party in December.
